关于YMCA的来源及歌曲

上 个世纪七十年代迪斯科舞厅里流行一首“YMCA”的歌，八十年代初期传到中国，那时的年轻人提着收录机，穿着喇叭裤，沿街放着音乐招摇而过，算是时髦。那 时的我虽然学英文了，可对这首歌词的整个并不清楚，只记得那里面反复几句的”YMCA”，听到音乐也会摇头晃脑跟着唱。这儿转载Yahoo奇摩知識中关于“YMCA”歌的知識项目.

 

YMCA是Young Men's Christian Association 的英文簡寫，也就是“基督教青年會”；它是個遍布全世界的基督教青年組織，發源於英國倫敦，由英國基督徒青年George Williams 於1844年創立。

而歌曲《 Y.M.C.A.》作於1978年 ，由樂團 Village People（創建於1977年，有濃厚同性戀色彩）所演唱。一部分是獻給“基督教青年會”，一方面是表現同性戀文化。在70年代，社會普遍仍然不接受同性戀，同性戀不能公開自己的性取向，能交流的地方就是YMCA附設的健身體育場所。

不過此首歌詞含有雙重涵義，一說是鼓勵同志們來到YMCA交友；而作詞者 Village People主唱 Victor Willis則表示，他是寫給年輕黑人青年，在YMCA交流體育活動如籃球，游泳。無論如何，此曲發行後廣受歡迎（尤其是同性戀族群），衍生出標準招牌動作。
